There is so much to see in every direction, and depending on which side of the car one happens to be on, it is possible to see a totally different scene than the one on the other side. Even driving through the rolling hills on the way to Billings, yesterday .. Wednesday .. with miles and miles (we're in the US!) of open space around us, often the scenery was remarkably different from one side of the road to the other.
I have added to my bucket list .. spend sufficient time in the area we drove through Wednesday, to take the little back roads that go to who knows where, over the hills and far away. I would love to meet some of the local people, and become acquainted with their lives. Maybe learn to ride a horse and go roaming over the hills ..... They told us that there is lots of work in them parts ... Hmmmmm ...
Beartooth Highway scenery is indescribable. And pictures don't even begin to capture those "thousand words" that a picture is supposed to. My thoughts more were inclined to be "no words, no words" .. as nothing can describe the vast, constantly changing and
ever unfolding beauty and immensity of the mountains and valleys. Up and down
Beartooth Highway scenery is indescribable. And pictures don't even begin to capture those "thousand words" that a picture is supposed to. My thoughts more were inclined to be "no words, no words" .. as nothing can describe the vast, constantly changing and
and around, ever climbing into the clouds and above the treeline,
then the long descent. Always new things to see! Even alpine flowers. And tiny lupins. The flowers on them were merely an inch or so. The lupins in my Kitchener garden tend to be at least a foot tall. And of course, I have to put in a good word for my little Toyota Echo .. she seemed not to work hard at all, just purred along happily, glad for a bit of a change of scenery herself! I think she likes the fresh air! lol.
Then when I thought I could take in no more, we get to Yellowstone Park. Wow wow and wow some more. We got to the river flats where the numerous herds of bison were grazing, at 8 pm or so, the time of day when the evening sun added a special glow to the already "no words no words" view.

HI Emily,
sounds (and looks) like you are in gorgeous countryside! wow! I just put the boys down for a nap, I am still "emmie" to Declan. Jonathan and I look at your pictures in the mornings, I tried to get Declan to look today, but I don't think it registered.

Lara .. Big hugs to the boys. I miss them, but am having a great time. The countryside most certainly is very gorgeous.
That is a gorgeous shot of the herd of bison in the meadow near the elegant clump of trees. Worthy of enlarging and framing to hang on the wall!
